To be honest you can have multiple correct answers to this one.
The easiest solution is to count the number of enclosed areas in the letter;
A has one enclosed area so it is equal to 1;
B has two enclosed areas so it is equal to 2
C has no enclosed areas so it is equal to 0;
D has only one enclosed area so it is equal to 1.
Therefore for E & F since there are no enclosed areas so both will be equal to zero.
