Received this riddle on WhatsApp today, it seems very easy at the beginning but then the number 7 at the end of the riddle seems to be incorrect.

The actual rule is that the number in the middle is the sum of the digits of the numbers around it.
Let test this rule for all the numbers in the picture;
(72, 99) => 7 + 2 + 9 + 9 = 27 (number in middle)
Similarly, let’s see if the rule works out for the other numbers;
(27, 45) => 2 + 7 + 4 + 5 = 18
(18, 39) => 1 + 8 + 3 + 9 = 21
Let’s find the missing number with the help of this rule;
(21, 36) => 2 + 1 + 3 + 6 = 12;
Let’s see if this check’s out with the last numbers following the missing number.
(12, 28) => 1 + 2 + 2 + 8 = 13
(13, 21) => 1 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 7
