The precious presence of the Bollywood stars for unveiling the wax models is another attraction, which will really be a feast to those who participate in the Inaugural ceremony. Lonavala, ‘The Jewel of the Sahyadri Mountains’ in India, with endearing scenery and enchanting caves, entwining pathways and energizing cool breeze is vast in its ambit and aloft in its zenith and highlight its boundless vicinity to Horizon the Infinite! Other than the wonderful sculptures, its location in the lovely Lonavala hilltops which already beckon tourist attraction and the importance of Mumbai in the industrial map add to its financial outgrowth too !”
Looking at all the billboards while entering Lonavala, we decided to visit this Celebrity Wax Museum. Looking for something new on our visit this time we were pleasantly surprised.
Located on the old Mumbai- Pune Highway just before the Lonavala town, it cheekily asks you “What is the need to go to London’s Madame Tussauds, when you have everything here”. The entry ticket is Rs 100/- and the place is quite good.
It was not surprising that this place was an instant hit with people of all ages, especially children. People were actually waiting in queues to get photographed along with Michael Jackson and other big names.
We saw some remarkable statues of Anna Hazare, Shivaji, Kapil Dev, Saddam Hussain etc. and some not so remarkable ones like Angelina Jolie and Benazir Bhutto. However, in all it is a good effort and if you haven’t been to any Wax Museum yet, I suggest you pay a visit to the Celebrity Wax Museum in Lonavala.
I will let the pictures here do the talking and here are some photographs which we took while we were there.
