The shadow on the wall would itself cast a shadow which is 12 m long if the wall wasn’t present there.

So if the wall was missing the total length of the shadow cast by the red bar would be 12 m + 12 m = 24 m.

So if a 4 m pole casts a 6 m shadow,

Then a 24 m shadow is cast by;

(24 x 4)/6 = 24 x 2/3 = 8 x 2 = 16 m
