Look at the series of numbers given in the riddle and find the connection between them.

What comes next in the sequence;

6, 13, 25, 51, 101, ?, ?

At the first glance at thse series itself you will figure out that the numbers are doubling in value but soon you will realize that they series is not progressing uniformly.

So to get the exact numbers in the series, you have to alternatively add and subtract 1 from the number.

So applying this logic to the numbers in the series we test the sequence as;

Hence starting the sequence with 1 and adding 1 to it we get;

(6 x 2) + 1 = 12 + 1 = 13;

Similarly the next numbers can be found as;

(13 x 2) – 1 = 26 – 1 = 25;

(25 x 2) + 1 = 50 + 1 = 51;

(51 x 2) – 1 = 102 – 1 = 101;

Therefore to find the next numbers in the sequence we use this formula;

(101 x 2) + 1 = 202 + 1 = 203; &

(203 x 2) – 1 = 406 – 1 = 405;

Answer: 203, 405.
