Amazon announces a discount offer in which you get an Apple iPhone worth Rs. 60,000 at a flat discount of 65%.
Similarly Flipkart has a scheme, on the same iPhone, which offers ‘Ten times 10% discount on price over and over’.
Where will you buy the iPhone from to get the best discount and why?

Amazon Offer:
Since the discount is 65 %, The amount we pay would be 35 %.
Hence amount we have to pay for the iPhone = 60000 x .35 = 21000.
I.e. Rs. 21,000 under Amazon’s scheme.
Flipkart Offer:
The discount here is 10 times 10 %…so We pay 90 % of the iPhone’s price but we have to calculate it 10 times.
So 10 times of 90 % would be (0.9) ^ 10 (.9 raised to 10)
S0 Price of TV = 60000 x .9^10 = 60000 x .3486 = 20,600.
I.e. Rs. 20,600 under Flipkart’s scheme.
Hence we select Flipkart Offer as we are getting the iPhone at a lower cost.
