WhatsApp Riddle: Collection Of Money For Birthday
This year as my Birthday was nearing; I planned to collect money for my birthday party.
So I started collecting the money from the 1st day of my birthday month.
On the first day, I put a dollar in my piggy bank, on the second, I put in $ 2 and on the third, I out in $ 3 and so on.
On my birthday, I had a total of 276 dollars in my piggy bank.
Can you find out the date on which my birthday was in that particular month?

Answer to the Riddle:
This can be solved by 2 methods:
Method 1: (Using Formula):
We know that the addition value is 276 so we can write
276 = n(n+1)/2
i.e. 276 x 2 = n(n+1)
Therefore, 552 = n^2 + n
so, n^2 + n – 552 = 0
i,e. (n – 23)^2 = 0
n – 23 = 0
Therefore n = 23.
Method 2: (Simple Addition)
Second method would be to directly start adding the number till u get to the sum of 276.
When u keep adding the number you will see that the total reaches 276 when you reach 23.
1 + 2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 6 + 7 + 8 + 9 + 10 + 11 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 15 + 16 + 17 + 18 + 19 + 20 + 21 + 22 + 23 = 276
Therefore, the birthday is on the 23rd day of the month.(By both methods.)
